Dr Andrew Morris Launches New Book

Maryvale offers its warmest congratulations to one of its PhD supervisors, Dr Andrew Morris, on the publication of his latest book, Catholic Schools in a Plural Society: Data and Analysis, a series of articles and documents that he has written on and relating to the Catholic education sector in England and Wales. Dr Morris has separated his writings into four key themes:

  • The context of state maintained Catholic schools,
  • The academic performance of Catholic schools up to 1995,
  • Data on pupils’ academic and social outcomes, along with comparative studies of teachers and leadership of Catholic schools,
  • Briefing papers on various aspects of state-maintained Catholic education.

Dr Morris' academic specialism is in the field of faith-based education and school leadership. He was seconded from the Archdiocese of Birmingham Diocesan Schools Commission to Liverpool Hope University in October 2017 as Senior Research Fellow and Director of the National Centre for Christian Education. He also served as Course Director of Postgraduate Research at Maryvale Institute from 2013 to 2015 and continues to offer PhD supervision to students. He is an established author, having published over 30 articles, 6 books and 9 book chapters since 1994
