East Birmingham and Solihull Deanery in collaboration with the Ethnic Chaplaincies presents a Day for Catechists on Saturday 25th September 2021 from 10.00 am. The day aims to update current Catechists and introduce candidates for this Ministry in light of the new Catechetical Directory. Speakers for the day include Fr Jan Nowotnok, Director of Mission for the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, as well as Maryvale Institute's own Dr Amanda Orchard, Director of the Centre for Catechesis and Adult Formation. Archbishop Bernard Longley:"The programme for the Day for Catechists looks excellent and I am sure that the deanery and ethnic chaplaincy catechists will gain much from sharing in this day together – not least by being able to share and learn about the complementary approaches to catechesis which may characterise different traditions."
Bookings are invited via your Parish Priests to the Co-ordinator of the day, Mgr Daniel McHugh by Tuesday 21st September. The cost for the day will be £20 per person, to cover travel and stipend for the visiting speakers, venue and refreshments.
