Join us online on Thursday 20th June 2024 at 6.00pm (London time) for the St John Henry Newman Research Centre for Catholic Theology's Online Academic Forum, the latest in a series of occasional, public seminars by Maryvale academics. This time, Fr Daniel Mahan (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops), will be discussing From Information to Transformation: How the Bishops of the United States are Implementing the Directory for Catechesis.
Fr Daniel J. Mahan is Director of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops' Institute on the Catechism, which sits within its Secretariat for Evangelization and Catechesis. The institute provides consultation to the Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis on issues and topics related to the Catechism of the Catholic Church and the United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, as well as the accompaniment of Catholic publishers in the production of catechetical materials.
Father Daniel is also a priest of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, currently serving as pastor in solidum of four parishes in southeastern Indiana. He has been a reviewer of catechetical texts since the late 1990s and has been working as a core team member for the Institute on the Catechism since its launch in November 2022. A graduate of Saint Meinrad College, Father Daniel holds a Licentiate in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm in Rome.
Attendance of the Zoom seminar is free and open to all, including non-students, by registering below.
